Africa has always held a particular place in Europe’s imagination – and this is truly mutual, especially after the time of decolonization. Enthusiastic views converge – from the realm of literature to that of politics – with a mixture of fascination and, sometimes, rejection. Besides, today Africa is seen from Europe as an excellent example of an emerging continent. These are the perceptions that issue number 52 of African Geopolitics seeks to recall.
